When to Seek Urgent Care

If your pet is showing any of the following signs and needs to be seen the same day, please give us a call:

  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Minor wounds or abscesses
  • Limping, swelling, or signs of pain
  • Loss of appetite or signs of dehydration
  • Itchy skin, hives, or rashes
  • Eye redness, discharge, or tearing
  • Ear infections or ear discomfort
  • Pale gums
  • Coughing, sneezing, or nasal discharge
  • Worms, fleas, ticks, or mites
  • Urinary changes (e.g., blood in urine, frequent urination)
  • Suspected ingestion of something toxic*

Emergency Care (seek a 24/7 emergency hospital):

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Severe trauma (e.g., hit by a car)
  • Repeated seizures or loss of consciousness
  • Severe bloating or signs of GDV
  • Uncontrolled bleeding or choking
  • Paralysis or collapse
  • Labor complications needing intensive support
  • Prolonged refusal to eat/drink paired with lethargy or vomiting
